The Webinar features three speakers, each followed by a five-minute Q&A.
- Donnie Ellis, the emergency response coordinator for ExxonMobil’s US Production Organization, will join the Webinar with first-hand emergency management tips and discuss how the industry is changing the response preparation process for this year’s hurricane season based on lessons learned from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
“In light of last year’s hurricane season, many companies are scrambling to shore up their emergency preparedness and management,” said Ellis. “Since not all companies are impacted in the same way by hurricanes, my focus in this Webinar will be on tactics and ideas that are of universal benefit to organizations in planning and responding to any type of weather pattern or event.”
- Paul Hastings, vice president of business development for Houston-based ImpactWeather, Inc., will focus on the latest technologies in hurricane forecasting and monitoring services that are available to organizations. As evidenced by Katrina and Wilma last year, hurricanes can undergo significant changes in a very short period of time. Therefore, Hastings will demonstrate how integrating weather data into the enterprise improves decision-making and helps participants assess how weather impacts multiple areas of a company at the very moment critical information becomes available.
- Margi Schmidt, vice president of business development at MIR3, will address automatic notification measures that can be used in conjunction with weather warnings to further accelerate the response cycle. Schmidt will focus on integrating weather alerts and notification services to speed preparation and reaction time to weather emergencies.
The June 15 Webinar is the first of a series being developed by MIR3 as a cost-effective, convenient way to help organizations track and gain expertise in the latest trends impacting emergency preparedness and business continuity.
